Here’s a look at some of the best nightlife in Georgetown to keep you entertained when the sun goes down.
Soho Freehouse
Perhaps best-known for its all-day happy hour, Soho Freehouse has a classic British pub feel to it, with a friendly crowd of expats interspersed with the the odd tourist. Located along Jalan Penang, this is a fun and friendly spot in a great location.
That Little Wine Bar
For something more sophisticated, head to That Little Wine Bar, where the wine list is far from little and you can order tapas and a range of main courses to accompany your glass (or bottle) of choice. Find it at Jalan Chow Thye (just off Jalan Burma).
Canteen
Located along Lebuh Victoria within ChinaHouse – a compound of three heritage buildings converted into shops, food spots, galleries, and live music spaces – Canteen is Georgetown’s number one hipster food and drinks offering. It’s chic and arty with a great menu and live music from Thursday through Sunday.
Slippery Senoritas
Slippery Senoritas is where to go to mingle with expats, tourists, and locals for a night of dance, drinks, and frivolity. It’s a large and colorful nightclub situated in Jalan Penang where the bar staff will mix your cocktails with flair and panache while you take in the crowd at the huge oval-shaped bar.
360 Skybar
For dinner with a view, head to the 360 Skybar at the four-star Bayview Hotel along Lebuh Farquhar. The indoor level is home to a dining room that gently rotates 360 degrees while you enjoy your meal. Meanwhile, outside there are chic bucket armchairs from which to sit and enjoy the magnificent views across Georgetown with a cocktail or two.
